- Showcase Your Skills
*********************************************************
Do you really have a burning desire to be TV's next big thing? Are you having trouble getting noticed? Not a singleagent wants to sign you up?
ORGANISE A PRESENTER'S SHOWCASE!
A showcase is usually organised by a group of aspiring television professionals who arrange for a number of agents, casting directors and producers to attend either a live or pre-recorded performance.
Most training schools have 'showcase' events at the conclusion of their terms of study. It is an opportunity for their skills to be shown to an audience of potential 'power-brokers'.
A showcase provides a great opportunity for up-and-coming performers to network with industry people. Although there is no guarantee you will be signed up on the spot, it is a chance or you to be in the spotlight and to get noticed.
All you need to do is get together with a few friends, find a venue, find a good screen and sound system and send out some invitations! Start off small and then work to a bigger event.

The frustration you will experience with no feedback from the countless phone calls and castings is not unusual. Your own showcase is a chance for you to be in control - you dictate the variables, you organise the venue, the time, the guests -
fill have the audience with agents (or even an agency's personal assistants - they have more time to spare) and the other half with friends who will clap, cheer and laugh at all your jokes!
Showcasing is a popular self-promotional tool in the US - but not so common elsewhere. Start a trend - and create your own opportunities!
